Last Minute Toys for Christmas

The time to shop for Christmas is quickly drawing to a close. However, if you hurry you can win last-minute toys!

I know that there are a few last-minute shoppers out there. After taking a quick poll at my part-time job the other day it seems like I am the only one who has gotten all of their shopping and wrapping taken care of. Shopping for kids can be the most fun experience of the year, even if you are a little bit behind. There’s still time to win toys on DealDash, and if you pay today you will receive them in time for Christmas! There are some exceptions, of course, but most items can be delivered in time for Santa to leave them under the tree.

What is the perfect last-minute gift for girls or boys? Legos! There are Legos of every color and so many different sets that encompass so many different interests of boys, girls, and both. Either gender can enjoy tie-ins to popular movies, video games, and TV shows such as Angry Birds, Ghostbusters, and Elves. If the child you’re shopping for is too young for regular Legos try the Duplo blocks. Around my house we call them “Baby Legos.” DealDash has both types – Lego and Duplo – up for auction.

Another great last-minute toy idea is ride-on cars! Toddlers on up through early elementary-aged kids love these. My niece has a ride-on car that looks like a little VW Bug, it’s adorable! The good thing about these ride-on toys is that they look awesome under the tree. They are a real “WOW!!” type of present. They don’t need as much space as you might think, either. My niece rides hers around the basement, as it’s too cold to drive it around outside now.

$50 GameStop Gift Card

If you’re searching for a toy for a child that’s a little bit older, video games are always fun. DealDash has video games for all of the game systems – Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U. If you’re not sure what system that the child has, then a gift card for GameStop is always appreciated as well. If you don’t have a Gamestop in your town, then DealDash has the solution – gift cards to Toys R Us, Wal*Mart, and Target.

I hope that you found this article about last-minute toy gifts helpful. If you have another type of toy in mind check out the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games section on DealDash. Video Games on DealDash for Christmas

When you’re looking to purchase (or win!) video games as a gift for someone, the main thing that you have to figure out is what system that they use to play games. Do they use an Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, Wii, a gaming computer, or something else? There are few things more disappointing to a child than to get a really awesome video game, and not be able to play it due to owning a different game system.

The good new, though, is that if they have an Xbox One they are backwards compatible, meaning that if someone already has an Xbox membership, and either digital or disc based games they are in luck, because they will work with the Xbox One.

However, there is nothing to be done if you get them an Xbox game and they have a Playstation, instead. So it’s very important that you get them the correct brand of video game.

Now that you know the most important part, the next step is to find out what types of games they like. There are many different genres of games such as:

  • Action
  • Shooter
  • Simulation
  • RPG
  • Strategy
  • Tower defense
  • Sports
  • Trivia
  • Many, many others

Once you have determined the game system, and the preferred genre of game, then all that’s left to do is choose a game! I have had some luck with getting family members the newest releases in their favorite genre, but if you are dealing with a hardcore gamer, then they might have pre-ordered theirs already. In this case, the smartest thing to do would be to get them a gift card for the game store, or for the Xbox or Playstation digital store.

If you are thinking of getting someone video games for Christmas, why don’t you head on over to DealDash and see what auctions are currently running? There are almost always video game auctions running, of different game platforms and genres. There are also game accessories available. There are also game store gift cards up for auction. Now get out there and find some great auctions! Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

Great Christmas Gift Series: Xbox One

Welcome to the newest DealDash series – “Great Christmas Gifts.” If you’re a person who struggles every year trying to think of gifts to get your family and friends, this series is for YOU!

The Xbox One is made by Microsoft, and it’s one of the most popular gaming systems available right now. There are a huge amount of games that can be played on this game system, from children to teens to adults.

If you have a person in your life who loves video games and currently owns an Xbox 360 you might want to consider giving them an upgrade to the Xbox One for Christmas this year. The best news about upgrading someone who already owns an Xbox 360 is that the Xbox One is backwards compatible, meaning that if someone already has an Xbox membership, and either digital or disc based games they are in luck, because they will work with the Xbox One.

If you’re shopping for a couple and the guy is really into video games and the lady not so much – not to worry, they can both enjoy the Xbox One, because even though it’s more known for it’s awesome games, you can also download apps onto your Xbox One, as well as watch internet-based TV such as Netflix or Hulu through the Xbox one, no computer needed. If you’re wondering how that works, it’s pretty simple. The Xbox One runs on three operating systems: the Xbox One system, a Windows 8 kernel, and a third operating system made by Microsoft to act as glue between the two main operating systems. This helps aid you in being able to switch between games, TV, the web,  and any other apps that you might end up downloading.

The Xbox One has a really cool voice recognition system that powers the console. This makes it easy for the Xbox’s owner to give the Xbox One voice commands like as ‘Xbox on,’ or ‘Xbox, TV’. The Xbox One also has a new built-in Kinect, so the Xbox One can also be controlled with gestures, like a wave of the hand, or by grabbing and dragging things.

The new Kinect that’s built in has a 1080p camera and can also recognize different people by identifying their faces. It syncs and stores this information with this person’s Gamertag and Xbox Live account if they would like to sign on to a friend’s console. This means that if several people are gaming on one console which has all of their information stored, the camera on the Kinect is able to identify which player is holding the controller in order to do things such as update a game’s scores. Pretty cool, huh?

If you are thinking of getting someone (even yourself!) an Xbox One for Christmas, why don’t you head on over to DealDash and see what auctions are currently running? There are almost always Xbox One auctions running, be it a game or an accessory. Now get out there and find some great auctions! Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

Xbox is for Everyone

If you took a poll of 20 teenage guys I bet 19 of them would say that they enjoy playing Xbox. However, Xbox isn’t just for teen guys, read on…

Xbox One is Microsoft’s newest Xbox console, but lots of people still enjoy playing the Xbox 360 , including my Aunt! She is 64 years old and you should see her playing Minecraft on her 360, she is just as good as any teenage kid out there! Most ladies her age would rather be reading, doing puzzles, or knitting, but Aunty loves Xbox. She originally bought the Xbox 360 to have at her house when her grand kids came over to visit, but little by little she got hooked on the great graphics and fun story lines of some of the different games.

Of course, there are plenty of games out for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 that don’t appeal to her such as the Grand Theft Auto series. However, there are plenty of games available for people of all ages from Elementary school age, such as Angry Birds: Star Wars to fun family games like Kinect Sports Rivals that everyone can enjoy. One favorite series at my house is all of the Lego themed games such as The Lego Movie Video game (yes, that’s really what it’s called!), Lego The Hobbit, and my Son’s personal favorite – LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.

The original Xbox (not the 360, the one before that) was the first video game console offered by an American company after the Atari Jaguar stopped sales in 1996.  The original Xbox was released on November 15, 2001 in the United States, and has sold over 24 million units.  Microsoft’s second console, the Xbox 360, was released in 2005 and has sold over 77.2 million consoles worldwide. The successor to the Xbox 360 and Microsoft’s most recent console, the Xbox One,  was revealed on May 21, 2013. The Xbox One has a large emphasis on internet-based features; including the ability to record and stream game play, and the ability to integrate with a set-top box to watch cable or satellite TV through the console.

One of the most interesting and innovative features of the Xbox 360 and Xbox One is the Kinect controller. The Kinect is a motion-sensing controller, similar to the Wii Plus Remote, except the Kinect can also be controlled by by voice, which is definitely a step up in my opinion.

Now that I have told you a little bit about my family and how we enjoy the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, why don’t you head on over to DealDash and see what Xbox auctions are currently running? Not a day goes by that I don’t see at least one Xbox product, be it a game or accessory. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!
