Having a Tough Time on DealDash?

DEALDASH BLOG

As more and more people discover DealDash it gets a little trickier to win. Luckily there are some things you can do to help.

Have you been having a tough time winning auctions lately? If you are not able to win anything lately on  DealDash maybe it’s time to get back to basics. Even if you’re a seasoned DealDash player it can’t hurt to take a little refresher course on how to bid and win.

More Is Not Better

Bidding on as many auctions as possible does not really increase your chances of winning an auction. The exception to this is if you are bidding up to the BIN (Buy It Now) price every time. If you’re inputting the amount of bids to reach the BIN price on every auction you enter then you’re good to go. However, if you are only putting in a few bids, or placing the bids strategically, then more auctions is definitely not better.

Take the Free Bids from DealDash

There are a few different ways that you can get free bids from DealDash. You can take pictures of yourself and your item and post them to DealDash’s Facebook page, bid on items to fill up your free bid meter, and you can also get free bids for simply signing in and bidding every day. The more free bids that you receive from DealDash means you can increase your bidding power in an auction. For instance, if you are bidding in an

For instance, if you are bidding in an auction and you’re reaching the BIN price you might normally drop out of the auction and BIN the item. However, if you claimed 100 free bids from DealDash that day from filling up your bid meter then you can feel confident in putting in an extra 100 bids knowing that you didn’t actually pay for those.

Are You Bidding From the Home Screen?

If you’re not opening up the actual auction and just bidding from the main home screen then it’s unlikely that you’ll win. I know, bidding from the home screen is a good time-saver, but you need to open up that auction and pay attention to what’s going on.

When you get inside of the individual auction, then you can do a little research on your item. You can see what the item has previously sold for, the reviews on the item if there are any, and you can set the BidBuddy. The BidBuddy is the only way that you’re going to have any real success on DealDash.

Loving Your DealDash Experience

loving DealDash

DealDash’s goal is to have everyone love their experience on the site. Here are some ideas to get the most out of it.

If you’re a newbie and you haven’t been having a great experience on DealDash, you might not be using the site to the fullest extent. It’s hard to consistently win auctions if you don’t know what you are doing, and that’s where the DealDash Blog comes in to help. We want you to love DealDash and have a great experience every time, even if you don’t win, and the way to do that is to learn everything about DealDash that you can!

Being an Excellent Bidder

How can you learn to be an excellent bidder if you’re new to the site? There is an easy answer to that, and it is to watch the more experienced bidders in the big auctions. Even if you’re not planning on bidding on a larger auction such as a TV or video game system you should still watch some of those auctions as they are happening.

By watching the more experienced bidders in the bigger auctions you will get a much better idea of how to develop your own bidding style. When you’ve decided on a bidding style that you would like to use, then it’s time to start bidding in auctions yourself.

Choosing the Correct Auctions to Bid On

Before you start bidding you’ll need to purchase a bid pack. The bid packs range from around 50 to 2,000! After buying the bid pack you can figure out exactly which auction that you would like to enter. You can start with an auction that is currently in progress, as long as the final auction price hasn’t reached the $5 “No Jumper Limit.”

You can start with an auction that is currently in progress, as long as the final auction price hasn’t reached the $5 “No Jumper Limit.” You may also choose to enter an auction that is happening in the near future by loading up your BidBuddy with the appropriate number of bids to reach the BIN (Buy It Now) price.

Choosing an auction to bid in is one of the most fun parts about DealDash! Personally, I would suggest starting off with a gift card auction. That way if you have reached the BIN (Buy It Now) price you can simply buy the gift card for the regular face-value, receive all of your bids back, and also get free shipping. It’s a no-risk auction when you bid on a gift card that you would have purchased anyway such as a gas gift card.

I hope this article has encouraged you to learn more about DealDash. You should definitely check out DealDash’s “Tips & Tricks” section on the site. It’s full of great information that you will find helpful when bidding on DealDash. Just click this link right here and you can check it out. Good Luck and Happy Bidding, everyone!

Did You Join DealDash Today? Here’s How It Works

Are you just getting started? Here’s how DealDash works.

1. Buy Bids

Bids are what you use to bid in the auctions to try and win.  Bids are available in a variety of different sizes of bid packs. The regular price per bid is 60 cents, and your first bid pack purchase will use this price. However, DealDash offers bid sales pretty much every day where you can purchase them from around 14-18 cents per bid. If you buy a larger bid pack, the cost per bid is usually much lower. Sometimes on holidays the prices will be even lower. You just have to be patient and see what the price is every day.

2. Browse Auctions, Do Research

All items sold on DealDash are brand new and come with manufacturer warranties. All of the items are clearly displayed, some with multiple pictures. All of the items have descriptions, and of course you can always google the item you’re interested in to get consumer reviews or more information.

3. Start Bidding

All auctions start at $0.00. Everytime you or anyone else bids it adds one penny to the final price of the item. Each bid from you or anyone else restarts the timer to 10 seconds and allows people to place bids until the timer reaches 0 or is reset again by someone bidding. You can bid one by one, or use the free tool  to help you bid called the BidBuddy. The BidBuddy is an awesome tool that everyone should take advantage of – you can program it to bid as many times as you like, and you can watch it bid against the competition or step away from the computer, or even turn it off and go to sleep!

4. Win or BIN

When the timer reaches 0 and no one else places a bid, the last bidder wins the auction and pays the final auction fee that is displayed on the bidding screen. Sometimes DealDash offers half off all auctions, or even FREE auctions. When you start bidding in an auction you never know if it’s going to be over in a matter of minutes or even days! However, if it’s an item that’s important to you, you probably want to think about going “all the way” and be willing to BIN (Buy It Now) if you don’t win. That way, when you BIN the item for the retail price you get ALL of the bids back that you placed, as well as getting free shipping. Sounds great, right? Well get bidding!

I hope this article made you want to check out DealDash’s auctions and start bidding. If you’re interested in reading even more tips and tricks please check out the “Tactics & Tips” section on DealDash. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

Ahhh Spring! Baby Kittens, Baby Puppies, and Baby DealDashers!

Spring is right around the corner, flowers will be in bloom, baby animals everywhere will be born, and DealDash will be getting more Newbies.

DealDash loves their Newbies! As an older and more seasoned DealDasher, I personally like all of the Newbies, as long as they follow the rules – the official rules as well as the rules of courtesy in the Land of DealDash. If you’re one of DealDash’s Newbies, please read on so you can educate yourself on the official rules as well as the “unofficial” rules that most of us older DealDashers try to follow to keep everything fun and friendly.

There is a full and complete list of the official rules on DealDash, if you would like to read them on the official site, then please follow this link here. However, here are the most common rules that I feel that Newbies should familiarize themselves with so they don’t accidentally get into trouble with DealDash and lose their bidding privileges:

  • Each person can only have 1 account, no exceptions.
  • You can win up to 9 auctions per week. The system will not allow you to bid after you have reached your limit. All remaining BidBuddies will be automatically cancelled and your bids will be returned to your account.

As I said, there are a few other official rules, but I feel that these two rules that I have listed above are the most common things that new bidders might have questions about.

Now, let’s talk about “unofficial rules.” The rules that I am going to list next are NOT official DealDash rules, you will NOT lose your bidding privileges if you don’t follow them – they are just a few suggestions that you might want to follow so you don’t upset a fellow DealDasher without realizing it! However, if you want to ignore these suggestions as part of your bidding strategy, that’s fine as well. Just remember – some older and more seasoned DealDashers with tons of wins under their belts will sometimes “throw a win” to a Newbie if they have only invested a few bids. However, if you do something to annoy them then I have seen people purposefully overbid to prove a point.

  • Do not “stomp”. Stomping is when you bid immediately after someone else without letting the clock timer run down to 2 or 3 seconds. Every second that a bidder is listed as the “highest bidder” they get “clock time” which adds up and can eventually be traded for free bids from DealDash. When you stomp on another bidder’s bid and cheat them out of their clock time people tend to get aggravated.
  • Do not “jump.” Being a Jumper means that you don’t put your first bid in until the auction is moments away from being closed to new bidders. For example, the limit is almost always $5, and then after that the auction is closed to anyone who hasn’t yet put in at least one bid. If you wait until $4.97, $4.98, $4.99, etc before you put in your first bid people might consider you a Jumper and be annoyed. However, I think most bidders also realize sometimes you didn’t decide to bid on the auction before the limit was almost up, or you didn’t see the auction until it was almost too late – but if you jump in at $4.99 every single time you bid in an auction then you might get a reputation as a Jumper, and that’s not really a title that most people want!
  • Don’t write rude things in your bio. Your bio is a sentence that you can write about yourself that will pop up with your avatar every time that you bid. Most people write fairly innocuous things like “I love to bid!” or “Bidding for my Grandkids!” but I have seen some people write things that border on being rude, such as “Don’t bother bidding, I’m going to crush your bids.” or “I’m going to bid until I win, I don’t care how much it costs, so give up now.” Those examples that I gave are fictional, but I have seen similar things, and I always wonder why people purposely try to make enemies, this is supposed to be a fun website – entertainment shopping!

Those are the important things to think about when you are just starting to bid on DealDash, but also helpful to remember, if you have over-bid and reached the BIN price, use the “Buy it Now” option and pay retail price for the item. DealDash will then refund all of the bids you used on that item, and you can try again another day. This is really a great win-win situation for everyone.

So newbie DealDashers, those are just a few helpful rules and suggestions for your first few times playing on DealDash. Remember to pay attention to the rules, check out the auctions and see what you would really like to bid on, and try some easier auctions to start! See you on DealDash everyone! Good luck and happy bidding.
