Let’s Talk DealDash Strategy

On DealDash what works for you might not work for others. Let’s look at some different strategies for winning auctions

The Planner – The planner is someone who does a lot of research on different DealDash auctions. They might decide on an item, and then go through all of the different options on DealDash and patiently wait for their optimal auction to be put up for bid. Or the planner might find the auction that they want, and then throw in a few bids to just see how the auction goes, see who is bidding, and see what the item goes for in the end…And then wait until the next time the auction comes up for bid to actually get serious and use what they learned on the previous auction that they were merely observing. This is a very smart way to play.

The Determined Bidder – The determined bidder is going to win at all costs. They don’t care who is bidding or how many people are still in the auction. They load up their BidBuddies and occasionally come back to see if they have won or if they need to plug more bids into their BidBuddy. They will do this multiple times until they either win or run out of bids. This strategy wastes money and bids in my opinion. It’s much smarter to put bids into your BidBuddy and then check back on the auction occasionally to make sure that if you win the auction you don’t end up paying more in bids + final fee than it would be to just BIN (Buy It Now) the item when you reach your budget limit. When using the BIN option DealDash will when refund all of the bids you used on that item, and you can try again another day.

The Sporadic Bidder – The sporadic bidder is not a good strategy at all in my opinion. The sporadic bidder looks at the front page of auctions and puts in 5 bids here, 5 bids there, jumping around from auction to auction spending hundreds of bids and then wonders why they don’t win any auctions. Occasionally the sporadic bidder will win an auction, but it’s total luck and good timing. The sporadic bidder usually doesn’t stick around DealDash very long since they don’t tend to win many (or any) auctions.

Of these three strategies the Planner is definitely the best choice. What strategy do you use? Go ahead and test out the strategies –  check out the auctions and see what you would really like to bid on. See you on DealDash everyone! Good luck and happy bidding.

Learn the Language of DealDash

When you first join DealDash it might seem like the bidders are speaking a different language in their bios. Here are some tips to learn the “language of DealDash.”

Bids – While it may seem self-explanatory, bids are the currency of DealDash. Each bid that you spend raises the price of the auction by .01, and whoever is the last bidder gets to buy the auction at the final auction value. If you see someone talking about “saving your bids” or “conserving your bids”, they are just trying to save money.

Jumper – DealDash has a “No Jumper” policy, which means that no one new is allowed to join the auction after the final auction value has reached $5. So a “jumper” is someone who tries to join the auction late in order to save bids. There is sometimes an exception to the No Jumper policy, occasionally DealDash runs a special where there are no jumpers allowed after $3.

Stomper – A Stomper is someone who bids immediately after another person without waiting for the time clock to go down to 1, 2, or 3 seconds. The reason that bidders don’t like Stompers is because when you bid on DealDash you earn “clock time” for every second that you are the highest bidder, and eventually you can turn that clock time into free bids provided by DealDash.

DealDash App – App is short for “application”, and the DealDash App is available on both iTunes for Apple products and the Google Play store for Android devices. The DealDash app helps you monitor your auctions while you are on the go so you don’t have to worry about missing out on any of the action. You can also pay for your auctions on the DealDash App, buy more bids, favorite auctions to look at later, set alerts, and of course bid on items!

BidBuddy – Your best friend in the DealDash world. The BidBuddy is a free service that DealDash provides that will tirelessly bid on auctions for you with as many bids as you load him up with. The BidBuddy takes turns with other BidBuddies that people have set to bid, and bid with about 3 seconds left to go on the clock, so people don’t think that you are “stomping” their bids. You can set your BidBuddy in preparation for the auction to begin so you don’t even have to have your computer on when the auction starts. Of course, if you have the DealDash App you might want to manually wait for the auction to begin so you can scope out your competition before you set your BidBuddy.

So newbie DealDashers, those are just a few helpful hints for your first few times playing on DealDash. Remember to pay attention to the rules, check out the auctions and see what you would really like to bid on, and try some easier auctions to start! See you on DealDash everyone! Good luck and happy bidding.

Did You Set your Clock Back? Save Time With DealDash

There are a few groups of people with unlimited amounts of free time – retirees, the housebound, the extremely wealthy, but what about the rest of us? Time is money!

DealDash is not only great at saving you money when you get an awesome deal on an auction, but what about the time DealDash can save you by bidding on auctions instead of having to go to multiple stores to shop?

I don’t know about you, but as a busy Mom of three kids I don’t have a lot of spare time to go around. So when my daughter says she needs a new bike, my son says he needs a new basketball, and I see that the baby needs a new stroller as well as all of the things that I need around the house it can be a little overwhelming. If I were to go to each of the stores to pick up those items individually it would take me all day if I went by myself, and two or three separate trips if I had to drag along a newborn, a 4 year old, and an 8 year old. I just don’t have that kind of time to spare. Enter DealDash!

I can get every single one of those items that I mentioned, and more, by just sitting in the comfort of my own home and bidding on the auctions for the things that I need. And with BidBuddy, I don’t even have to BE there to bid! I can just set my BidBuddy up and check back later to see if I won or if I will be BINning (Buying It Now).

In case you aren’t familiar with the BidBuddy, the BidBuddy places bids for you after you have programmed in the amount of bids that you would like to place. It waits until the last 2-3 seconds to bid. You can put a limit on how many bids will be used. And you can cancel or add more bids to it at any time. If you would like to see more information on how the BidBuddy is used, follow this link here.

I hope this article gave you some ideas on how to save time and therefore money using DealDash auctions to shop from home. Why don’t you check out the auctions and see what you would really like to bid on and WIN? See you on DealDash everyone! Good luck and happy bidding.

DealDash Helps Prevent Boredom

As someone who just had stomach surgery this week I am bedridden for another few days. DealDash helps me from becoming too bored.

That’s why they call it “Entertainment Shopping.” DealDash helps in two distinct ways to overcome boredom. The first way, of course, is just by bidding and winning on DealDash itself.

I don’t know about you, but personally I can spend hours at a time on DealDash without even bidding! I love to look at the upcoming auctions, read the descriptions, and see what amounts of money that the item has won for in the past. If I decide that there is something that I want to bid on then I do a search to see if there are more than one of the particular item up for bid, and when it’s coming up. Then of course I bookmark the auctions that I have chosen so I remember to come back later.

I also love to look at the Winners section to see what kind of awesome deals that people have been getting that day, or alternately, who got in over their head and bid far, far too much for an item. It’s fun for me to see what people are winning as “first time winners” as well.

The second way that DealDash can help alleviate boredom, of course, is by enjoying the things that you win on DealDash! DealDash has so many wonderful things that can keep you entertained, even when you are bedridden, like myself.

A few suggestions on things that you can bid on to alleviate boredom:

  • Video Games – DealDash has a great selection of video game systems as well as the games to go with them, and other accessories like game controllers.
  • Board Games – DealDash sometimes offers board games up for auction. As long as you have someone to play board games with, they can be a lot of fun, and something that you can do from your bed.
  • DVDs/Blu-Rays – DealDash offers movies on both formats, and in a variety of genres. I’m sure that you can find a movie that you enjoy.
  • Gift Cards – What’s always fun? Shopping online! DealDash offers gift cards from a variety of retailers, and some of them can be used online such as Target, Wal*Mart, Toys r Us, etc, so you can shop from the comfort of your own bed.

It doesn’t matter if you’re sick and in bed like myself, or if you’re just bored and looking for something fun to do why don’t you check out the auctions and see what you would really like to bid on and WIN? See you on DealDash everyone! Good luck and happy bidding.

Cold? DealDash Can Warm You Up!

As I’m writing this sitting in Boston, it was one degree today. ONE DEGREE! Luckily, DealDash has some great items to warm you up.

Let’s start with the most obvious things, space heaters! DealDash has a few different space heaters up for auction at various times, there are different ones that are purely utilitarian and others that provide warmth as well as being very decorative as well.

Starting with the utilitarian, there are a few different styles of Lasko brand heater that are oscillating ceramic tower heaters, and if you’re interested in the more decorative heaters, there are also heaters that even look like fireplaces! And if you’re interested in a patio heater for outside, DealDash has those as well.  If you’re interested in any of these kinds of heaters just click on this link here and it will take you directly to them on DealDash.

There are some other great things that DealDash has that can help you warm up, such as a heating pad, or even an electric blanket. Both of these items can be a great comfort to you if you stick either one of them in your bed at night and turn them on about 10 minutes before you go to bed at night. They will heat up your bed and make it nice and toasty warm for you when you slid in under the covers. However, please make sure that you turn them off before you actually go to sleep, though. We wouldn’t want you to get overheated at night. However, if you forget it isn’t such a big deal – both of these items have an auto shut-off feature. If you would like to see these items on DealDash, please just click this link here.

However, when I’m at home and I’m feeling a bit chilly, the very first thing that I like to do personally is use my heated foot massager! It makes my feet feel not only toasty warm but also relaxed as well. DealDash has not only just heated foot massagers, but even whole body massagers. Now that sounds relaxing and warm. If you would like to check out the heated massagers that DealDash has to offer, please just click this link here.
