We have all been in DealDash auctions with bidders who constantly cut us off and stomp on our time as the highest bidders. It is frustrating to say the least. I have read the Blog posts both condemning and supporting these practices. I am not a supporter. I wonder, what if Bid Buddy was required and not optional?
If Bid Buddy was required, then one could plug-in as many bids as they choose and increase them as needed. It would sure stop the stomping and perhaps even lower the final costs of the auction selling price. Bidders would also collect their time as highest bidder and level up easier, collecting their free bids. I can’t help but think it would help newbies, in particular, from wasting bids before they know how to “play” the game of DealDash in order to have the best experience. If we stop them from wasting their bids, then we also stop them from wasting our bids.
Another secondary suggestion might be requiring use of the Bid Buddy until one reaches a certain level. That way bidders would need to gain the right to bid and understand how the process and Bid Buddy works before being able to manually bid. Oh some seasoned bidders will still stomp at will but at least it would cut down on some of the stomping. Just food for thought!
While vacationing the past few days I was thinking about writing a whimsical take on the different DealDash bidders we see on the best auction site DealDash.com. I happened to stumble upon some really great statues of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and thought I’d write an article comparing the seven dwarfs (Doc, Sneezy, Dopey, Sleepy, Bashful, Grumpy, and Happy) with the different bidding behaviours and traits of DealDash shoppers.

I had originally stopped at the gas station, to use the Subway gift cards I won on Deal Dash for a quick sandwich, while we were on the go when I saw these statues. I thought about how I could describe our fellow DealDash bidders and compare them to Snow White’s seven dwarfs. Here’s what I came up with…
Doc
The meticulous bidder who watches, waits, and examines each auction he bids on. He wins some, he loses some.
Sneezy
He bids, then bids again, then stops. Hi ho, he bids again, then bids again, and again, then stops and never comes back into the auction again.
Dopey
He bids, he slaps, he bids, he bids, he slaps, he uses all his bids and never wins.
Sleepy
He bids, sets his bid buddy, leaves the room, and returns to find his auction has sold while he was sleeping!
Bashful
This bidder bids once or twice and then is never heard from again. Perhaps too shy to bid again?
Grumpy
This bidder bids on several auctions all day. He loses most, because he has not stayed focus on one auction and spreads his bids too thin. Losing his auctions has cost him so many bids he just gets grumpy and will probably not even use the Buy it Now feature DealDash offers for bidders to get their bids back.
Happy
Last but not least, this is my favorite of all because he has watched, listened, and learned how to play smart on DealDash. Due to this he gets to see “Congratulations!” and fireworks regularly as he wins auctions! What a happy bidder this little dwarf is! He has reached that place we all want to be and that is on the winners page on DealDash.com. 1. You need to buy bids before you can bid in the auctions. The normal price of bids is 60¢ per bid however DealDash has regular discount sales where you can buy bids anywhere from 15 to 20 cents per bid. For example you can get 200 bids for $30.00 (breaks down to 15¢ per bid).
2. Auctions start off at $0.00 (no reserve price) and each bid placed increases the final selling price of the auction by 1 penny.
Example: the auction begins at $0.00 and 1 bid is placed, the price of the auction goes to $0.01, another bid is placed by someone else and the price goes to $0.02. With each bid placed the auction clock is reset to 10 seconds and begins counting down allowing the opportunity for someone else to place a bid if they want to. When no more bids are placed, the auction ends and sells to the highest bidder who becomes the winner!

It is our family tradition to take each one of our three daughters out for dinner on or around their birthdays. The whole family goes which totals 7 people so the bill can get pretty pricey. One of our favorite places to eat is Texas Roadhouse. Since DealDash offers Texas Roadhouse gifts cards, I figured why not bid on some of those. I scanned through the up-coming auctions to find the ones I wanted to bid on.
The first auction was on March 30, which I successfully won for $0.22 using just 5 bids. The next auction was on April 8. I won that auction for $0.82 using just 9 bids. For $1.04 and 14 bids, I had won $100.00 worth of Texas Roadhouse gift cards from DealDash. I figured I would try once more since I knew our bill would total over the value of those first two cards.
