Most children and adults enjoy riding bikes in the nice weather. May is National Bike Month, if you need a new ride check out DealDash.
Bikes are fun for everyone who is able bodied enough to walk, from the smallest child to senior citizens. Bikes are not only fun, but they are the primary mode of transportation for many people, and burn lots of calories helping you get your work out for the day while you are enjoying a bike ride. Bikes are great for getting the family together for a nice ride around the neighborhood, and fun for small kids to just ride up and down the driveway. What kind of bike is right for you or your children or grandchildren, though? Read on below and we will discuss a few different types of bicycles and their targeted users.
Mountain bikes are ideal for biking on different kinds of terrains, especially rough and uneven trails. Mountain bikes have different speeds so you can transition from gravel roads to rough trails to a paved road with no problem whatsoever. Mountain bikes tend to be extremely sturdy and are built to take a beating and still last.
If mountains and rough trails aren’t your thing, how about a beach cruiser bike? Beach cruisers aren’t just for the beach! They have spring saddle seats for a comfortable and upright riding position, and swept-back cruiser handlebars for arm comfort. Beach cruisers are great bikes for the casual rider who enjoys a ride around the neighborhood instead of an intense workout. Beach cruisers are also a popular bike with seniors and vacationers. Personally, I have a Schwinn beach cruiser and it’s the most comfortable bike that I have ever ridden, and the only one that hasn’t caused me to have a sore body afterwards.
Lastly, we can’t forget children’s bikes! I’ve never met a kid who wasn’t excited to go for a bike ride. I got both of my older children bikes for Christmas and they are so excited for Spring to be here so they can go out and ride them more often. The most important thing with kid’s bikes is to make sure that you get your child the right size. I will include a chart below that shows what size bike (in inches) that you should be looking for when you are shopping for a bike for a child.
DealDash regularly has bikes for kids and adults , and even safety equipment up for auction. Please make sure that everyone in your family is wearing a helmet every single time they go for a bike ride, no matter how short or how close to home. It only takes one second to get into an accident.
