Cyber Monday Week Is Still Here!

Do you have the Black Friday blues? Are you afraid that the best shopping days of the year have passed you by? After all, the biggest shopping day of the year for brick and mortar stores, Black Friday, has come and gone. And Cyber Monday, the biggest day of the year for online shopping, is over this year, too. Cyber Monday takes place every year on the Monday that follows Thanksgiving. This year it was on November, 29th. It is the day when online retailers offer their biggest discounts of the year to try and entice holiday shoppers. It is a relatively new event, having been around for only 16 years or so. In fact, the original iteration of Cyber Monday looked a bit different.

One exciting part of DealDash’s Cyber Monday Week Sale is the Leaderboard Auctions. Leaderboard Auctions are a special twist on the normal DealDash auctions that you know and love.

These auctions work as normal, but with one special twist; a leaderboard has been added to the auction page! The leaderboard will display the name of the bidders who have collected the most TAHB (Time as Highest Bidder) in that auction.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 marked a monumental moment in history; the end of World War I. This was the hour when Armistice between the Allied Forces and Germany took effect which ended all major hostilities of World War I. November 11th was known as Armistice Day until 1954, when it was renamed Veterans Day. As we approach Veterans Day this year, we want to take a moment to appreciate the selfless sacrifice that the members of the United States Armed Forces make. Thank you for your service.

This year, millions of folks will be celebrating Veterans Day. There are over 1.4 million members of the United States Armed Forces currently, and Veterans Day honors all members of the Armed Forces, past and present. This raises the total number of Veterans in the united states to almost 20 million, according to research conducted by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

A day full of tradition

Veterans Day pays respect to those who have served. On Veterans Day, you can choose how you wish to say thank you for your service. Some folks give flowers or baked goods to their neighbors or family members who have served. Other Americans choose to donate to charities that support Veterans, like the Fisher House Foundation – a group that builds comfort housing where Veterans can stay for free.

And if you intend to go to the grocery store or use public transit, be sure to check the schedule first; many businesses and public services operate on holiday schedules and reduced hours on Veterans day.

We also have made the auctions easier to win by reducing the No Jumper Limit down to just $3. Less competition means there will be fewer bidders competing for the late night deals you are trying to win. And that’s not all! We are going to celebrate second place by activating the Runner Up Discount for many auctions starting during the weekend. For example, let’s say you came in second place in an auction for a purse auction. After the auction ends, you will receive a discounted Buy It Now offer for 50% the original price.
