It’s Time To Get Ready For Halloween!

The leaves have turned from green to beautiful shades of red and gold, and in most places, temperatures are plummeting. What does this all mean? Fall is here, so it’s time to get prepared for Halloween and to check out Eerie Liquidation Week!

Halloween is one of the most-celebrated holidays, right behind Christmas, Thanksgiving, and the 4th of July. In fact, Halloween is so popular, that almost 150 million Americans celebrate the holiday by carving a pumpkin. People celebrate in other ways, too. Some of the most popular Halloween activities include visiting corn mazes, checking out a haunted house, watching a spooky movie, and of course, getting dressed up in a Halloween costume! This year, the most popular costume ideas are a mix of timeless ideas, like being a dinosaur or ghost, and new ideas inspired by contemporary movies and T.V. shows, like Top Gun: Maverick, and Paw Patrol.

DealDash also has a Halloween tradition for you; our Eerie Liquidation Week Promotion where we offer liquidation auctions and special promotions. Best of all? You don’t have to wait until the end of October – it starts today!

Eerie Liquidation Week is here and it is a Halloween tradition you do NOT want to miss!

Your last opportunity at liquidation items before they are gone!

A major part of the Eerie Liquidation Week promotion are the low-inventory items that are up for auction. Throughout the week you will notice that some auctions are marked with a pumpkin icon and caution tape surrounding the photo of the item. This indicates that it it is an auction for a liquidation item. If the product has fewer than 15 units in stock, on the main auction page you will even see how many units of that specific item are left! It might be just a couple or it might be ten, but be aware: this might be your last opportunity to win an auction for this item before it is gone.

Now is the time to bid on DealDash liquidation auctions!

If you see that one of your favorite items is marked as a liquidation auction, no need to fret. We are not reducing our product selection or partnering with fewer brands. On the contrary, DealDash has liquidation auctions to clear space in our warehouses for a new wave of brands and items that will be up for auction soon.

Less competition and more rewards

Eerie Liquidation Week isn’t just about special auctions. We also will be running our most popular promotions throughout the week, too!

When you bid this week, one of the first things you will notice is a varying no new bidders limit. The no new bidders limit (also called No Jumper Limit) is the limit when it becomes closed to additional bidders joining. Generally speaking, no new bidders may enter the auctions to bid after the bids hit the $5 mark. This week, the limit will be lowered in select auctions. How low will it be? Well, that depends on the auction. It could be $3, or it might be even lower than that. You will have to check out the auctions to see for yourself! One thing is for certain; you will want to bid in these auctions because a lower no new bidders limit means that fewer people can join a specific auction which means less competition for you.

Another promotion you will see this week is the popular Runner-Up promotion. This promotion gives you a reason to celebrate finishing second in an auction! In Runner-Up auctions second-place finishers will receive a discounted Buy It Now offer for 50% the original price.

A silver medal sits as a proud reward for second place.
Runner-up auctions offer a prize to second-place finishers.

That’s not all..

In addition to the Runner-Up Promotion, DealDash will also have increased Time-as-highest-bidder multipliers and auction winner discounts all throughout Eerie Liquidation Week. We hope to see you in the auctions and we wish you a Happy Halloween!

A Friend You Can Count On

You might think that bidding on DealDash is an individual activity, and you’d be mostly correct in thinking so. But did you know that there is a friend you can count on? A friend that helps you bid more effectively and even win auctions? Well, there is, and it’s called the BidBuddy!

If you’ve been around DealDash for more than a few auctions then you might already know about BidBuddy. It’s an automatic bidding tool that is available to DealDash bidders for each and every auction. And if you are the type of bidder who loves to multitask and participate in a few auctions at once, you have access to multiple bidbuddies; one for each auction that you are in.

Type in the number of bids you want to use, then click “Book a BidBuddy”

Trying new things can be hard, and if you haven’t used BidBuddy before, perhaps you are wondering if it is difficult or if it requires a lot of brain power. Worry not; it’s very simple to use. Once you have chosen an auction you want to bid in, simply enter the number of bids you would like to add to the auction in the box that says “Number of Bids” and click the “Place Bids” button. It’s that easy!

Once the auction starts, the Bid Buddy will place your bids one at a time until you win or until all your bids allocated to it have been used. If you decide that this particular auction isn’t for you, or if the auction price is going too high, don’t worry,  you can cancel your BidBuddy any time you like.

One great feature of the Bid Buddy is that it not only bids for you automatically, but it bids intelligently! It is designed to only bid when the auction clock is about to run out. This way, no bids are wasted. Many successful bidders rely on BidBuddy to help them win auctions and save time and money

BidBuddy guarantees your place

One perk that comes with using BidBuddy is our BidBuddy Guarantee rule.

The BidBuddy Guarantee is a feature that ensures all BidBuddies booked before the auction starts will be allowed to bid. This feature was introduced to make sure that everyone bidding before the No Jumper Limit could participate in the auction. Now, manual bidding before the No Jumper Limit will not exclude any BidBuddies from participating as long as they have been booked before the auction starts and have not been cancelled.

I hope this information inspires you in the auctions to try something new. Maybe you will even stop manually bidding for a bit to give BidBuddy a try. If you’re interested in reading even more tips and tricks check out the “Tactics & Tips” section on DealDash.

Where Do Great Deals Come From? It Starts With DealDash Suppliers

A cornerstone of DealDash has been helping our customers save money. If you’ve had the chance to bid in a DealDash auction, you probably noticed significant savings in comparison to what you would typically find in a big box store or at the mall. But have you ever wondered how we do it? It all starts with our trusted network of DealDash suppliers.

Great deals start with our trusted suppliers.

Keep reading to find out all about the DealDash suppliers, how we work with them to pass savings on to you, and a special weeklong liquidation event starting soon on DealDash.

Great suppliers create a win-win-win relationship

Since 2009, we have partnered with dozens of companies from around the world to fuel the auctions that you know and love. Want to take a guess at how many items we have brought to auction with the help of our suppliers? Over 2 million! Our efforts have not gone unnoticed either as we were awarded  the “Best Excess Inventory Liquidation Service – USA” award at the 9th annual award ceremony held by Global Brands Magazine.

Global Brands Magazine recognized DealDash as the Best Excess Inventory Liquidation Service in 2021.

Awards are nice, but our supplier partnerships serve a much more important purpose; obtaining a diverse product catalog that can be sold in our online auctions at far below retail prices, on average. In fact, we look at the partnerships with our suppliers as a true win-win-win scenario. Our suppliers win by being able to move large amounts of excess inventory without destroying the value of their brand. We win by having access to a variety of brands and their products from all around the world to fill our auctions win. And last but certainly not least, our customers win by being able to bid on and win these products that are often sold for a fraction of the suggested MSRP price.

A partnership that goes beyond savings

Perhaps the best part of our partnerships with the DealDash suppliers is that the benefit goes beyond a great deal. It is more important than that. For starters, we are motivated to help companies avoid having to discard and destroy unsold merchandise. The practice of destroying excess product is unfortunately all to common, and many brands have come under fire in recent years as videos showing luxury jackets being slashed or purses being burned go viral as they are shared online.

A fashionable women wearing expensive clothes walks through a landfill.
High fashion meets the landfill all too often.

The reason brands resort to destroy items is to maintain pricing power. Imagine if a luxury purse company discounted last year’s bags at 50% off the normal MSRP price. Savvy customers would take note. They would simply wait for an end of the season sale to get a great bag at a nice discount. So instead of discounting items, some brands destroy them instead. This way they don’t have to lower prices to move goods. We help them solve that problem by purchasing excess inventory from them and then auctioning it off. We never list products below the MSRP without the permission of the brand. Only the auction winner may purchase the item at the final auction price, everyone else has the option to purchase the item at the “Buy it Now” price, which is set at the MSRP unless otherwise agreed with the brand.

Don’t miss out on Inventory Liquidation Week on DealDash

June 6th to June 13th is the perfect time for you to get on DealDash. That week is Inventory Liquidation Week. Each day we run multiple auctions at the same time for featured liquidation items. We’ll also make the auctions more exciting than ever by offering big discounts on the final sales price of the auction. This means that the winner will be entitled to 50% or even 90% for select auctions. You can find Auction Leaderboards that reward bidders with free bids for collecting time as highest bidder during an auction. We will be offering our Runner-up discount to second place finishers in select auctions, too! And if all that excitement isn’t already enough, keep your eyes on the No Jumper Limit during Inventory Liquidation Week: sometimes it will be lower than the normal $5.

We hope to see you in the auctions, and thanks for being the best part of DealDash.

DealDash Goes North!

DealDash launches in Canada

Next March DealDash turns thirteen! We launched in 2009, and a lot has changed since then. If you were bidding on DealDash when we first launched, you had the chance to bid on and win iPods and DVDs, among other things. Now DealDash bidders who are interested in electronics go after smartphones and laptops. Keeping with the theme of change, we have an announcement to make; we are going to Canada! Or, to put it more specifically, we went to Canada already! We launched DealDash Canada earlier this year.

Canadian flags blow in a summer breeze.
DealDash now serves the two largest countries in North America; The U.S.A. and Canada!

Get ready for international bidding

We opened our doors to Canadians in the beginning of January, 2022, and since then Canadian bidders have won hundreds of auctions. You might have already seen a DealDash Canada review posted by one of these happy auction winners, and we want to congratulate them all.

What better way to celebrate a win by putting on your best Canadian-red suit and dancing!?

DealDash ships for free to US and Canada

Now, savvy shoppers from all over the contiguous United States and Canada (excluding Quebec) can enjoy exciting auctions that provide bigtime savings on all sorts of items. From kitchenware to new cars, you can find it on DealDash. And remember, shipping is always free! No need to pay any shipping fees or use a freight forwarding service if you are a DealDash member!

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

There might be some longtime DealDash bidders who aren’t thrilled with the idea of DealDash changing. After all, there is the classic saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” One concern longtime DealDash bidders could have regarding our expansion to Canada is that now there are more bidders which would make it harder to win auctions.

The good news is that there is no need to worry because we have a simple solution; if there are more bidders then we make sure to have more auctions. We closely monitor things like the amount of bids used to win an auction and the average sales price of an item to ensure that our customers get great deals. In fact, we provide this information to you on the Auction page as the estimated total cost figure. It takes into account the final sales price of an item + the total amount of bids used to provide the amount that the win cost the auction winner.

The estimated total cost is important information that DealDash and DealDash Canada bidders should review.
We welcome our Canadian friends to our auctions while making sure that there are plenty of great deals for everyone.

Change is a constant, both in our lives and also on DealDash. But no matter what, we will make sure that while we keep making changes to improve DealDash for everyone, we will remain true to our values that have shaped the DealDash you know and love.

DealDash PS5 For Only $0.50 – Too Good To Be True?

DealDash advertises a PlayStation 5 console being sold for only $0.50.

You might have seen the ad on TV about the PlayStation 5 that was sold for $0.50 on DealDash. 50 cents? There must be something fishy going on with a price like that. Maybe there are some hidden fees? Surely this is not all that the customer paid for the PS5 on DealDash? What about shipping costs?

Read on as we go in to detail on how the end price of an auction is formed.

The $0.50 PlayStation 5 Console…

…and a 55-inch TV! In July 2021 a DealDash bidder couldn’t believe their eyes as they only placed 2 bids to win the auction for a bundle of the brand new PS5 console and a 55″ TV.

The total cost of that auction for the winner was the final auction win price of $0.10 + an estimated $0.20 per bid they placed. And shipping is always free on DealDash!

Your Go-To Place For Gaming Deals

In addition to the PlayStation consoles you’ll regularly find auctions for the new Xbox Series X consoles and full home theatre bundles together with TV’s and audio systems.

And if you are in search of hand held gaming devices, you will find us auctioning the Nintendo Switch Lite consoles often too. No gaming setup is perfect without a pair of gaming headphones with a microphone and a curved display. Be sure to check out the auctions!

The Math Behind The 50¢ PS5

There have been articles opening up the math behind auctions on DealDash in the past. On DealDash the total cost for the winner consists of the auction end price and any pre bought bids they placed in the auction. There’s absolutely no hidden costs involved!

A total of 40 PlayStation 5 consoles have been auctioned on DealDash by the time of writing this blog (Jan 2022). On average the winner has saved over 60% off the Buy It Now price of the auction including the cost of bids.
