DealDash launches in Canada

Next March DealDash turns thirteen! We launched in 2009, and a lot has changed since then. If you were bidding on DealDash when we first launched, you had the chance to bid on and win iPods and DVDs, among other things. Now DealDash bidders who are interested in electronics go after smartphones and laptops. Keeping with the theme of change, we have an announcement to make; we are going to Canada! Or, to put it more specifically, we went to Canada already! We launched DealDash Canada earlier this year.

It takes into account the final sales price of an item + the total amount of bids used to provide the amount that the win cost the auction winner.

DealDash PS5 For Only $0.50 – Too Good To Be True?

DealDash advertises a PlayStation 5 console being sold for only $0.50.

You might have seen the ad on TV about the PlayStation 5 that was sold for $0.50 on DealDash. 50 cents? There must be something fishy going on with a price like that. Maybe there are some hidden fees? Surely this is not all that the customer paid for the PS5 on DealDash? What about shipping costs?

The $0.50 PlayStation 5 Console…

…and a 55-inch TV! In July 2021 a DealDash bidder couldn’t believe their eyes as they only placed 2 bids to win the auction for a bundle of the brand new PS5 console and a 55″ TV.

The total cost of that auction for the winner was the final auction win price of $0.10 + an estimated $0.20 per bid they placed. And shipping is always free on DealDash!

Cyber Monday Week Is Still Here!

Do you have the Black Friday blues? Are you afraid that the best shopping days of the year have passed you by? After all, the biggest shopping day of the year for brick and mortar stores, Black Friday, has come and gone. And Cyber Monday, the biggest day of the year for online shopping, is over this year, too. Cyber Monday takes place every year on the Monday that follows Thanksgiving. This year it was on November, 29th. It is the day when online retailers offer their biggest discounts of the year to try and entice holiday shoppers. It is a relatively new event, having been around for only 16 years or so. In fact, the original iteration of Cyber Monday looked a bit different.

Follow the leader

One exciting part of DealDash’s Cyber Monday Week Sale is the Leaderboard Auctions. Leaderboard Auctions are a special twist on the normal DealDash auctions that you know and love.

These auctions work as normal, but with one special twist; a leaderboard has been added to the auction page! The leaderboard will display the name of the bidders who have collected the most TAHB (Time as Highest Bidder) in that auction.

When the auction ends, the three bidders who have collected the most TAHB in that auction will earn additional bid rewards!

More free bids during Cyber Monday Week

Cyber Monday Week on DealDash gives you the opportunity to earn more free bids than normal! Each day, the Time As Highest Bidder meter has a bonus multiplier attached to it. Some days it is 2X, other days it is 3X, and if you happen to visit DealDash on the right day during Cyber Monday Week, you will see even a 4X multiplier!

Black Friday on DealDash: A Whole Week of Epic Promotions!

Did you know that Black Friday dates back to the late 1800’s when large department stores like Macy’s and Sears would organize Thanksgiving Day parades? These stores wanted to gather large crowds of people together to promote their sales and get them shopping!

While we don’t have any plans for a DealDash parade this year, we have done our best to provide you with the most epic auctions and promotions this Black Friday on DealDash! Here is a sneak peek at what we have in store!

Mega blasts are here!

We feel that our Black Friday Promotion should not center around one day, but rather there should be a lot happening throughout the week! As such we will kick off the week with a blast of 100 auctions on Monday morning at 8:00 AM Pacific Time! A blast means that there are a lot of auctions starting at the same time – in this case 100!

If you happen to miss Monday Kickoff, don’t fret. There are also other blasts throughout the week! On Tuesday 40 auctions will start at the same time at 4:00 PM Pacific Time, and another 40 at 8:00 AM Pacific Time on Wednesday. On Black Friday itself, we are planning on having 5 big blasts! At 8:00 AM Pacific Time, 100 auctions will go live, as well as four separate 50 auction blasts in the evening starting every hour between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM Pacific Time. Over the weekend, we will have auction blasts for specific categories of items at 8:00AM, 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM Pacific Time on both days!

Are there any discounts, other twists, or Flash Sales?

You bet there is! For all auctions starting between Monday and Wednesday you have to pay only 50% of the final auction price when you win an auction! On Thanksgiving and Black Friday, we’ll boost your Time As Highest Bidder (TAHB) by 5X on Thanksgiving and 4X on Black Friday! Besides the TAHB increases, both days contain 90%-off Flash Sales! Over the weekend, we let our customers enjoy runner-up auctions! In those auctions, the first runner-up will receive a personal 50% off Buy It Now offer when the auction ends. Also remember to check the daily challenges, there are some super rewards waiting for you if you complete those!

Surprise hours

The daily promotions are also spiced up with Surprise hours throughout the week with extra perks for active bidders! Be on the lookout for Surprise hours – you’ll find information on our daily newsletter or push notifications to your mobile device when the Surprise hour is about to start. One question we get all the time is, when is the next car auction coming up? Kaboom! The answer is next week of course! We will be auctioning the 2022 BMW X3 sDrive30i – Jet Black on 4:oo PM Pacific Time on Black Friday. As a heads up, we will also be auctioning SWFT MAXX e-Moped on Cyber Monday at 4:00PM Pacific Time. Besides the vehicles, we try to introduce one new special item each day – ranging from 4K QLED TVs to R2-D2!

Less bidders, less competition

Don’t feel like bidding against too many others? Good thing we have multiple No New Bidders flash sales planned as well!

Monday: No new bidders after $1 Flash Sale between 4:00 PM-6:00 PM
Tuesday: No new bidders after $2 Flash Sale between 4:00 PM-6:00 PM
Thursday: No new bidders after $1 Flash Sale between 8:00 AM-10:00 AM as well as 4:00 PM-6:00 PM
Saturday: Whole day has No new bidders after $3 twist in place, instead of the normal $5

The blasts are great opportunities to catch a deal – especially as some of those blast auctions are mystery auctions. The mystery auctions are marked with a question mark, and the item is revealed only 5 minutes before the auction starts! Best of all, no Bid Buddies can be booked before that meaning that there is likely to be less competition in these auctions!

What if I want to shop for my family, but I don’t win an auction?

No need to worry! You can always purchase the item at the Buy it Now price within 7 days of the auction ending. What about all of the bids you placed in the auction, you may ask? You get them all back! Every time you use the “Buy it Now” option, every bid you placed in that auction is returned to your bid balance, so you can try again in new auctions without buying more bids!
