Step-by-Step DealDash Tutorial Instructions

It’s DealDash tutorial time, ya’ll! If you haven’t taken the tutorial, it’s time!

You can take the DealDash tutorial at any time, you don’t have to be a “brand newbie.” Heck, I didn’t take the tutorial until I had been bidding on DealDash for 2 years or so. DealDash has made the process of learning how to use the site so much easier and more fun with the tutorial. You can see how the auctions work before you try to jump in yourself. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to use the DealDash tutorial.

Where is the Tutorial?

The tutorial is located in the in the “Help” section on the site. There are lots of helpful things there, but the tutorial is what we are concentrating on today. Look at the picture below, and you will see a message welcoming you to DealDash.

Learn How to Bid

You can use the tutorial to win a bid pack of 10 bids. You will see that your bids are being used to participate in this tutorial, but DealDash will return them to you after the tutorial, and you will get to keep the bid pack of 10 bids that you will win playing against the computer as well. Like I said, you can take the tutorial at any time, so if you’re low on bids and haven’t taken the tutorial you should do so to get your 10 free bids.

What Does the Tutorial Do?

The tutorial is like a game against the computer. You will see other people participating in the pretend auction, but these aren’t actually real people. They are just there to show you how other people might act when you are playing against humans. The first thing that the tutorial shows you how to do is bid by placing single bids with the “Bid Now” button.

The Tutorial Teaches You About BidBuddy

This tutorial will also teach you how to use BidBuddy. The BidBuddy is used more often when bidding in auctions than placing single bids, so it’s a good thing to familiarize yourself with. The tutorial can help you do that.

After Winning…

After you win the auction in the tutorial you will get a glimpse of what happens when you win a real auction. The first time I won a real auction I was a little confused as to why there were fireworks on my screen. The tutorial will show you exactly what to look for.

BIN it…

One important thing on DealDash that the tutorial doesn’t show you is how to do a BIN (Buy It Now). This is an important thing to know because if you don’t win the item you’re bidding on you can buy it at retail price and get back all of your bids.

When you BIN the item for the retail price you get every single one of the bids back that you placed, as well as getting free shipping. When you don’t win an auction it just makes sense to do a BIN and receive your bids back. You are the “winner” of the auction in the tutorial, so that’s why it doesn’t show you how to BIN.

Today, December 6th 2017, is a very special day for the country of Finland. They are celebrating their 100th anniversary as an independent country. Finns achieved independence on December 6, 1917. The country celebrates its 100th year with multiple events in Finland and all around the world.

The theme for the celebratory year is “Together,” showing that everyone – Finns and friends of Finns – is welcome to take part, just as creating and building the nation were joint efforts.

DealDash Resolutions – 2018 Edition

Before we know it, the holiday season will be just a blur in our rearview mirrors and a new year will be upon us. In the new year, I’ve decided to take a look at my past year and make a few new DealDash resolutions. Take a look at how I’m re-vamping my DealDash style in 2018:

Implementing new strategies – This one is difficult for most of us, myself included. I have a certain way that I bid and I am comfortable with that. In 2018, I’m making the resolution to try new strategies like: trying a different day and time, bidding mid-auction, or heaven forbid—late auction! You never know what will work and when. You just have to give it a try.

Standing strong – Experienced bidders can be very intimidating but statistics show they don’t win all the auctions they bid on. Are there a few that seem to? Yes. Here’s the thing: More times than I can recall I have seen experienced bidders jump into an auction late and I will exit the auction almost immediately because the chances of me winning against a big bidder are usually slim to none. However, I have also watched these experienced bidders then mysteriously pop back out of the auction after just a few bids, and the other person wins. Silly me—I should have stayed in the auction and not been so intimidated. Lesson learned. I won’t be as intimidated in 2018.

Investing more bids – No one likes to spend a ton of bids because bids cost money. I try to limit myself to a certain number of bids on each auction, depending on the value and popularity of the item. In 2018, I’m going to go a little bit further and see if increasing my bids results in more wins.

Sticking to the No. 1 Rule – Only bidding on things you really want to win is the No. 1 rule at DealDash (other than always using BidBuddy, that is). It’s hard to do because it’s always nice to win an item to exchange to bids and have more bids in your bank. But what if your investment in winning items to get more bids fails and you waste your bids and then don’t have the bids you need to win the items you really want? That is a bummer and I’ve done it myself. But in 2018, I’m really making an effort to stick to things I really want to win 80 percent of the time.

Shake things up– I have found that it is true with me and others that we are creatures of habit. We stick to the same categories and don’t deviate much from our “norm.” If we have success with bidding on items from the jewelry category, that is where we tend to stay. You will find by watching other bidders that they also tend to stick to similar categories: bid packs, handmade bags and the like. In 2018, I’m breaking out of my norm and trying my hand at other categories I have yet to try.

Preparing for the holidays earlier – This year I’m starting in January. That’s right. By October 2018, I will have effectively stocked all the Christmas gifts I want in the closet by winning a few bids a month and putting those items away for holiday gift giving. The early bird gets the DealDash stash.
