Bidding on DealDash Bid Packs

250 Bid Pack!

Bidding on DealDash bid packs seems a little counter-intuitive at first. When you think about it more, though, it starts to make sense.

When I first started on DealDash one of the first things that I tried to win was a bid pack, and I lost. I had used up about 75 bids on a 200 bid pack and was determined to win. Since I wasn’t using the BidBuddy yet I ended up missing a click of the mouse, and it was all over. I was really frustrated and vowed not to bid on bid packs anymore. I went on to bid on small gift cards and win them, so I was still interested in DealDash, I just didn’t see the point in bidding on bid packs anymore.

As time went on, though, the siren song of the bid packs drew me back into their auctions. As an older, wiser, and smarter bidder I ended up winning a few. The big difference, of course, is that I wasn’t just bidding randomly and wildly. I had researched the best times to bid on bid packs and was using my BidBuddy. As fellow blogger Barbara Sellers wrote

DealDash often puts bid packs of 100 to 4,000 up for auction. Usually, the larger the bid pack, the more difficult it is to win. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, but the largest bid packs of 800, 1,000, 1,500 and 4,000 attract the most competitors. – Barbara Sellers

Bidding on bid packs is an excellent way to spend your last 20 or 30 bids that you have in your bid bank if you aren’t planning on buying any more bids until they are on a great sale. You never know, you might place those 20 or 30 bids on a 200 pack of bids and win! Wouldn’t that just brighten your day and make you love DealDash even more?

If bidding on bid packs seems like a waste of bids to you, that’s okay, too. You can get free bids from DealDash quite easily. A few of the different ways to get free bids from DealDash include signing in and placing at least 1 bid daily, taking pictures of yourself with your wins, and saving up “clock time” as the highest bidder.

If I may give you a suggestion, why not use the free bids that you receive from DealDash and bid on bid packs? That way if you lose you won’t be too disappointed since you’re not losing any of your own money, and if you win it will be extra sweet since it was a win with free bids.

Best Time to Add More Bids

During an auction, when is the best time to add bids?

You might have noticed that DealDash has three color codes:

  • Green when you have plenty of bids left in the auction
  • Yellow when your bids are getting low, which is like a warning or caution that you need to think about adding more bids before you run out
  • Red when you are about to run out of bids and you might not have time to add more, especially if you must first buy more bids

Let’s say the auction is down to the last three players and you are one of them. Your bids might be getting low. It looks like you have a good chance to win, so you decide to add more bids. The question is: how will you choose to do it? Do you want the other two players to know you are adding more bids or not?

If you want to secretly add bids without letting the other players know, you must wait until your screen name comes up before adding them. If you add your bids when it’s your turn, the other players will never know.  This is how I usually choose to add more bids—secretly.  Why? I believe the other two players might get the idea that I am getting desperately low on bids if they know I just added more.

If you do want the other players to know when you add more bids, you must add them when it is not your turn. Whenever a bidder’s screen name shows up out-of-sequence, it means one of three things:

  • One or more new players joined the auction
  • One or more active bidders dropped out of the auction or
  • An active bidder just added more bids

Some players choose to add more bids out-of-sequence –making it obvious to the other competitors. Why would anyone choose to do that?  Perhaps it’s an intimidating way of letting other players know that you have no intention of quitting and plan to remain in the auction to the bitter end.  However, the remaining players have no idea how many bids were just added—only a few or several hundred.

When and how you choose to add more bids during an auction is up to each player. However, you might think about what message you are sending to the remaining players.

Everyone Has DealDash Dreams

Everyone has a dream for a certain DealDash win. What is your DealDash dream auction?

DealDash has hundreds of auctions per day, one of them must be your dream auction. The auction that you think about, that you daydream about, that you dream about at night. DealDash auction items change fairly frequently, though. Don’t you think that it’s time to catch your dream auction before it floats away?

DealDash Dream Products

DealDash gets new inventory often, is there something up for bid right now that is your dream product? DealDash has items in every category from high-end pieces for your home to tools and outdoor items, and now even clothing for auction. What would you do if your dream product suddenly stopped showing up on DealDash? I bet you would be quite sad. Now is the time to make your dream auction a reality.

Do You Have Enough Bids?

No matter what your dream auction is you will need bids. How many bids depends on many factors such as the price of the item, it’s popularity, and how many bidders are on DealDash when the auction is happening.

To be on the safe side, you should have enough bids available in your bid bank to reach the BIN price. The BIN (Buy It Now) price is determined by the retail value of the product and is always located on the auction’s page. So after you have located your dream auction, open it up and see what the retail price is and do the DealDash math – Retail Price divided by cost per bid = how many bids you should have on hand when the auction starts.

Get Free Bids

Before your dream auction on DealDash starts you should stock up on free bids. DealDash offers free bids for bidding, filling out your profile, and writing product reviews. You can also get free bids for just visiting the site every day. Every day that you visit DealDash and place a bid DealDash will give you free bids. If you visit every day consecutively you will be rewarded more and more free bids every day, until you cap out at a maximum of 30 free bids per day. Be sure that you are doing this so you can save up for when your dream auction begins.

How to Get Free Bids

One of the features I love most about DealDash.com is having the opportunity to get free bids.

Customers earn free bids by doing the following:

  • Submit a clear photo of yourself with an auction product you won to [email protected] Include the name and description of the item, the retail price, the winning closing cost and how many bids you used. You can also include a brief comment about how you felt about winning the auction. The higher the value of the item (preferably more than $200) the better. You earn the most bids for photos of the high-dollar items.
  • Enter the weekly photo contest. The winner receives 1,000 free bids.
  • Open the DealDash.com home page every day and cast a minimum of one bid in any one of the auctions. For every consecutive day you play on DealDash, your free bids go up from 4 to 30. Therefore, it pays to visit DealDash on a daily basis.
  • Purchase a bid package and bid in auctions. At the bottom right-hand side of the screen you will see a green line. Every time you place a bid, that green line moves. When it gets to the end, you will win a package of free bids and advance to the next higher level. The higher the level, the longer it takes for the green line to get to the end but the more bids you will win. I’m now on Level 58 and when my green line gets to the end, I will receive 800 free bids.

To take a good photo, try doing the following:

  • Take a close-up photo of the customer with the auction item won, making sure the photo is in focus.
  • Take the photo in a well-lit area, making sure the photo is not too dark.
  • Take a photo of the winner actually using the auction item won.
  • Make sure the background is not too busy or distracting.
  • Capture a happy, excited facial expression.
  • Try taking a unique angle that makes the photo more interesting.
